Yesterday I posted a video of a woman who was planting plants along the beach to extend her property line illegally. Several white people chimed in on the thread certain that I was attacking white people! What's amazing is these white people didn't care about what the woman was doing illegally to our beach, depriving Hawaiians of access, only worried that I was attacking white people!I'm so sorry you white people feel guilty for being white for all the bad shit white people have done all over the planet, but please go see a therapist and stay off my thread!

Laulani Teale That is the bottom line, really. It is not her land, and you stopped her from making it hers.
It is an age-old battle of the colonial mindset vs. native standing of ground. Triggers some really old, really nasty stuff all around.
Colonial peoples generally start off as displaced peoples. Something - famine, war, screwed up family structures or whatever - drove them out of their homelands. When they arrived in the colonies, the colonial system directly fed that "displaced colonist" paradigm, gave them fake papers and guns to back them up. It killed off their old identity and fed them a new constructed one, "American", "Australian", etc.
Having lost their own ancient roots, many are not stable and are extremely defensive of the young, weak roots they have managed to grow (which are further weakened by the "nuclear family" unit, designed for perpetual uprooting and further disconnection and displacement).
Of course, there are those who adapt fine. Usually, connection with the native community is key, along with self-awareness and a willingness to take responsibility for one's place in the picture.
Unfortunately, there seems to be no way to successfully cultivate this amongst those with active colonial mindset, and stop the spread of the disease.
Other than to ku'e, not budge, don't let them take that few feet of beachfront or anything else. We need to collectively kick this up to a much higher level, so they actually get the message that they cannot pull this bad behavior and get away with it, nor do they need to pull this bad behavior in order to survive (the classic "Cowboys and Indians" BS mythology that colonial systems actively cultivate & spread in order to justify their own existence and build power, based on fear).

Nuff already. Go figure out the real source of your pain, people. It's not us. And as long as you think it is, you can't heal.

Felicia Alongi Cowden Stopping her from encroaching on public lands is really important and valuable. And yes, there is truth in all stereotypes. When I see kanaka movements, many of the most ardent supporters are of European descent. Blanket racism causes friendly fire. Maybe it is not about feeling guilty. Maybe it is about exhaustion from being trashed all the time in relentless collective comments about race. We are all being human. Some approaches in commentary are better than others. For many people haole hatred is also self hatred as most people are a mix. It can be confusing to observe. ...okay, I am ready to be flamed.   Love your passion; generally trying to stay out of your friendly fire.

Debra Kekaualua ive had a hard time too with posting what is and what is NOT haole...instead of "hot pink", an exCELLENT choice of verbiages, i choosing "coloring book-book" or "colorful people"...These 'tones' in my voice are in an effort to "BE NICE, or my manao is only good for the rubbish can" as one of the "po'e moku kauai peeple penned here in FB, then to now they are referred to as the "too lil too late kauai gangy", Ku'eKu'eKu'e!!! lots of clownages in the hood, mostly fence sitters or those structured as dannerinian in dannerhola!!! whoopwhoop, I KNOW WHO I AM!!! let's go!!!! heading back to KEAHOU stream where yesterday i delievered a CEASE AND DESIST written on the independence flag to the contractors working on the BRIDGE. DLNR says "to ENhance the visitor EXperience", nothing to do with WE the colorful resident tenants of these lands. Pending are court documents that brings about the REAL awakening. At the moment, the injury near my eye and forehead sustained in this first attempt to SHUT down bridgemaking is SOAH!!!, as is my heart

Iokepa K Kanihonui Mahalo this is so wrong of her and mahalo nui for doing the right thing. Is there a office on Kauai to contact to let them know of this ladies illegal activity? I had to do it once on Oahu and my complaint went through the zoning office and they sent out an investigator.

Iokepa K Kanihonui If that's the office to contact on Kauai, you should see if those homes are illegal vacation rentals as Hawaii has a lot of them that is unregulated.

Yvonne Kealoha The Planning and building offices would be very interested in this....she cannot block off like she did she is bringing trash on the beach doing so....anyone can remove those logs etc she put there to block entry to the beach....she can pay a hefty fine for doing what she is doing....

Cody Wolfchild The concept of white was created from the doctrine of discovery. First the kings took over christianity then had them write that it was cool to enslave blacks and genocide natives, put the blacks on hard labor and not let the natives lead from their own cultures and their own nations.
So today we have people arguing over a concept that proves ownership by connection to a race thats either ended up with land or lost it due to ancient claims by religion and it just coincidentally happened that all those claimants who monopolize our world happened to be white since its been going on.

The concept of white and non white, OR haole and local needs to be handled with respect and patriotism even maybe so that it gets that close yet calm look that one gives when filled with reverence.

Okay race explorers today its time to reverse the polarity so when someone gets hype we only get calm and educational and likewise when someone gets mopey and low energy we answer back with hype. This way we keep the conversation flowing with vivaciousness and dynamics!

Malia Temana Laka I tell them Thor most hilarious thing that's not even an insult but it catches them off Gaurd yet some get mad, others end up crying for relief. Yes they need therapy. My sons fathers need therapy-yes they are white with issues. I dunnnnoooo even if I'm half breed with like siblings we still have issues of people having their own issues put upon us. Wait till in LA - I'm Persian and that my friend is white blue blooded to the max ghostly( jellyfish clear). I tell them that which they don't believe, and I say guest that guy is pink (cause he's flush and prob doesn't smoke) and your orange (because freckles and sun bloched)... So obviously you have a complex that nobody knows except you and your friends whether you deny it or not. That isn't my problem, but your deathly white energy sucking attitude if you have it in you-is. But from what I'm still p perceiving right now is that you're not and I hope you don't go there with knowledge you don't understand while yelling at my family because you fear of losing face to face which infiltrates your dignity. That is white that is the meaning of white as in. Haole

Aloha My FB Ohana......
If you're open on Saturday October 15, 2016 from 8am to 4pm, you're invited to attend my first Solar Open House.
We're one of the first homes in Hawaii to have installed the new Tesla Powerwall Solar Energy Storage Battery, a battery backup system, along with our newly installed 16 panel Solar System. It is an amazing system and the right thing to do for our planet and environment.
Come and learn more about this awesome solar system. My address is 91-1210 Aawa Drive, Ewa Beach, HI 96706...808-258-3743. Call or message me if you want to set up a special time that you'll be arriving. I hope can make it. Aloha

Advice to PENCE - stay out of the gutter- that's the only place Hillary and her ilk can win- stick to the issues of taxes and how to rebuild America - Kaine will try to lure in the dirty smears, for the DEMS have no moral compass whatsoever, none.
