Genealogy update II;
The genealogy of Umiaemoku, Kฤnekapลlei's mother. This represents another line from the Maui family to Piilani.
Umiaemoku had two sisters. Umiulaikaahumanu and Ikuaana. Their parents were Mahiololi (k) and Kanekuka'ailani (w). Mahiololi also had a son named Kauauanuiamahi who had a daughter named Kaleiheana (w) from his wife Kepookapuokalani (w). Kaleiheana was one of, if not the last wahine of Keakealanikane. The couple had a son, the Prince Moana. Moanakane married Piilaniwahine (w), who is herself, a direct descendent of Piilani.
So, while Mahiololi was already my 11th great grandfather through Kaleiheana, Kฤnekapลlei makes him my 5th great grandfather. This also makes Heulu a 1st cousin...5 times removed. This tightens up the relationship to Kalaniสปลpuสปu and Keลua who both become 2nd cousins, 4x removed. But wait...since Kamehameha I is my 8th great grandfather, Keลua is already my 9th great grandfather, making Kamakaสปฤซmoku my 10th great grandmother.....making Kลซ-a-Nuสปuanau and Umiulaikaahumanu my 11th great grandparents. Phew!!! I'm dizzy now.
Umiaemoku is my 4x great grandmother (mother of Kฤnekapลlei) but her sister Umiulaikaahumanu...is my 11th.
So now....what is the genealogy of Mahiololi?

Thereสปs a strange parallel between what the poสปe haole Trump campaign for presidency advocates and Hawaiians seeking to “Make Hawaii Great Again”. When people fail to fix their errors typically they will can their present condition in desperation for a better outcome. Such is the case with the United States of America and the Hawaiian Community. So what can a Kanaka learn from the Trump peeps?
So Trump wins the election on a technicality not popularity, meaning more people didnสปt want this to happen than did. When Hawaiian take control of Hawaii that will predictably piss off a lot of people especially those non-Hawaiians. Trump acted reckless in his political aggression to win the presidency at all cost. Hawaiians are equally reckless pulling anyone and everyone into the cause just because itสปs a kakou thing. Trump lead his campaign with fad red hats advocating his political theme. Kanakas are quick to throw our mantra, slogans, quip lip sayings on a t-shirt in a heart beat and high end fashion statements as have the protector wahine on Mauna Kea. So if Trump can turn the tide why canสปt we?
Paying close attention, where has Trump fallen upside down in gaining his prize that the world idolizes but his transition team canสปt seem to materialize? Trump won the electoral vote but not the political party he represents. He pledged to make things better but has no plan in making that happen. Sound familiar? Hawaiian political groups for sovereignty and independence are NOT all on the same page. Certain Hawaiians are pimping Federal Recognition on the Doctrine of Happily Ever After but have no real meritorious plan to make that happen. Clearly the federal government isnสปt interested in Hawaiian Independence. I havenสปt heard any US Government conversation speaking to erasing the 50th star off the American Flag, have you?
What we learn from Trump is that you need more than a plan, you need a composite strategy. Hawaiians need a clear approach to transition from being a welfare managed people to an independent sustainable community driving our own bus not “bus up”. Like Trump who won on speaking to the pent up anger in the American people, we have our share of disgruntled Hawaiians who are equally pissed off and their anger leads instead of common sense. Reason why some people read my shit and say Iสปm complaining because they are hearing their inner voice of discontent louder than a voice of reason that I am speaking to. You are reading this then Iสปm in your head. Iสปm here to excite you into seeing what could be by speaking to the possibilities not the problem.
So you do understand the great divide that exist between us and them has to do with money. You have to readily see that they have more money because they have more of our land which is our wealth to do what they want, which makes them richer in monetary measurement. But what we know without having to ask a haole international lawyer or default to some fancy haole school is the notion of diminishing marginal utility. Whatสปs that mean? It simply says that the first thing you experience is great but more of the same thing looses value as its frequency is increased. The first bit of taro taste ono but the 50th taro looses its quality of ononess and it becomes labor to eat instead of enjoyment. Money is the same. The first couple of hundred thousand dollars are a blast but the repetitive flow of cash looses its ononess and it looses its attraction. When too much cash presents itสปs quality is diminished and value inflated meaning you have to spend more to get less.
There are approximately 250K Hawaiians in Hawaii and a total of 2M kanakas world wide with 10M Maori in total. So if every Hawaiian in Hawaii could pledge one dollar $1.00 and no cents per week thatสปs $250,000.00 per week or One Million Dollars a month. If every Hawaiian pledged just one dollar a week that would total Eight Million Dollars a month or $416,000,000 a year just pledging a dollar a week or twenty cents a day Monday to Friday. TWENTY CENTS !
If all Maori could grab this concept the Maori Nation operating just from Maori contribution would operate on a contribution of a dollar a month Maori would have a liquid cash base of $120M per year which could be leveraged into $2.4 Billion dollars in the first year doubling every year for as long as Maori would want. So why arenสปt we doing this?

India Paige mahalo for sharing your POV. I wish $ was the answer yet The Bishop Eatate doesn't really set the best example. What we need as a Hawaiian Nation First is cohesion. I was embarrassed after all the hard work when the Obama administration announced the Recognition of hawaii as a Sovereign Nation and there was no National Government ready to step up and take the lead. Alice Axe what would be the ultimate goal with that. To buy back land? If so, it seems so unjust that kanana maoli should have to buy back land that is rightfully theres because it was taken illegaly. Thats like having to buy back your possesions if someone robs your hale.
