Would like to hear from those that have had a weight reduction surgery or procedure. I know there is the actual surgical cutting of the stomach or the lap band procedure... Which one did you choose? Why? And how effective has it been? What major changes have you gone through? I need to reduce my BMI for a hip replacement surgery and haven't been very successful so considering the surgery at this point. I don't want to be on pain meds for years, I don't want to be immobile and have further complications for the next ten years because of it so any feedback would be much appreciated... Mahalo...

I identify as indigenous to Hawaiʻi. That has nothing to do with America. I refuse to allow the basic concept of indigenous identity to be co-opted by a colonial paradigm that redefines the concept as subjugated property. AND I want my country back, and I want real Kanaka to be in power. Which does not take away anyone's civil rights -- it strengthens them.

Valentine Kamaka'ioilaweapaa Santarone Jr. I no mean to speak out of turn but what I was referring to is some of us sovereignty guys, they big on the word indigenous but they not as supportive to the word aboriginal, while others are all about original minus the ab.. the bottom line is we can communicate well together. . Some of us can bridge gaps others can't. .

Laulani Teale Sigh. Love Keanu but can't stand reading his stuff. It is like reading one of Oren K Tsutsumi's link-strewn posts. Ooh!! Heh heh.
I find that I generally agree with all of the premises and most (though not all) of the conclusions. Just wish they were shorter and more flexible. But we are all different. I am sure lots of people wish my stuff were not so Laulani. Ha ha.

I just removed myself from several groups that started promoting Tulsi Gabbard. Ugh. No thanks!
Did people not see Star Wars or what? I am not going to be a part of empowering a slick-talking Sith to Evil Emperor status. No way!
Look, all you liberals thinking you are radicals for supporting Bernie over HRC and now promoting Tulsi as though she is the "New Hope", get real. The real revolution is about calling the BS out at its core, not shining it up to look prettier. It is about restoring power to the indigenous peoples to which these lands belong in the first place, and joining the battle against the US/corporate Empire for true pono.

Laulani Teale Anyone supporting her needs to understand Kānāwai Māmalahoe. That is serious, and she has broken it SO bad.
If I speak out against her as a politician, perhaps I would prefer that the consequence fall upon her as a politician instead of as a person. I bear no Ill will against her as a person. But I can't change the Law.

Keli P. Akina

I need to get something off my chest, So no laughing.
As I feel I'm not a decendant of any Mo'i, but inside of me i feel like there is a strong warrior that is a leader. I can imagine KAMEHAMEHA in his commanding order when these aliens of the U.S. try to take from his people. I know KAMEHAMEHA the great was one who took No B.S. from anyone and when they try to come against him, he would order his warriors to kill them and if they refused he then would take their lives if they didn't heed his orders.

I have that energy inside of me. I'm not saying i have that qualities or feel like i should be Mo'i but that's just the kind of feelings i have inside. As being a Peace Officer...i can communicate and reason with peace. I feel i can communicate well but I'm not perfect but I try my best. I always try to see it from the other persons prospective. I try to seek common ground and try to resolve the issue that is agreeable for both sides.
In my past I've done allot of things that i am proud of and things that people can't understand how i did it especially with no money. All i did was to get them to believe in me and what I'm doing is for a good cause. But i could have not done it if it weren't for my friends who believed in me and was there when i needed them. I feel i am capable of anything when i put my mind into it. So now as I persue my Kuleana as PEACE OFFICER, I know I will have a great bunch of People who will bring peace within our Kingdom and will be an inspiration to others to protect our people and our 'Aina.
Mahalo to all of you our Lahui Hawai'i in your praises and encouragement for what I have undertaken as my Kuleana. I appreciate all your comments and support. I am here to help our people any way I can. Mahalo for taking the time to read my post and and allow me to share my feelings with you. Mahalo and Aloha.
