In 1848, Kamehameha III - Kauikeaouli gave Alodio/Alodial lands to his subjects/kanaka maoli.

Additionally, Queen Liliuokalani was the hanai/adopted daughter of Abner Paki, son of Kalanihelemaiiluna, son of Kamehameha.

Queen Liliuokalani was the sibling of Bernice Pauahi Bishop.
The next-of-kin to Bernice Pauahi Bishop was named Kalola (female). She became Abner Paki stepdaughter since 1838 when her father, the brother of Abner Paki named Kalaniulumoku died.
Kalola (female) had siblings: Kaluaikau (female), Alapai, et. als.

The intention of Congress was to continue the existing government of the islands in operation without interruption, except in so far as it might be inconsistent with the Constitution or treaties of the United States or with the terms of the Resolution. Subject to this limitation only, the judicial power was to continue as it existed just prior to the transfer of sovereignty."
