Mahalo, Ku Kahakalau, a me Leilani Lindsey Kaapuni for sharing.FACT:I say this without any eha...Simply stating the obvious - This current COVID19 Pandemic and the inherent measures taken here in our Islands as well as in many/most societies worldwide, CLEARLY demonstrates Tourism is UNSUSTAINBLE.My Point: Like many here are astute enough to point out the industry that is sustainable for EVERY HUMAN BEING on this planet is Agriculture... SUSTAINBLE AGRICULTURE e.g. locally grown, family and commercial farmers, which encourages and utilizes "sustainable methods of farming" that many cultures mastered prior to the Industrial Era (mid/late 1800's).LITERALLY:To have a Tourist Industry societies need healthy Human Beings that make up the workforce. Without the workforce you have no Tourist Industry.Moving forward I believe our priorities are crystal clear... strengthen, nourish, and protect our Agriculture and its most valuable component FIRST, by making sure we all get enough food to feed ourselves and share with others... in dat order. One mo FACT to consider in all this... Recently Young Brothers announced they have submitted a request to the PUC to reduce the number of its sailings from three to two for Kahului Harbor and from two to one for Molokai.Hope for da best - Plan fo da worst
