If you thought FEMA camps were bad, now they have FEMA barges

Floating FEMA camps have made it to Port Arthur Texas and will house 600 or so displaced residents

PORT ARTHUR, Tex. (INTELLIHUB) — Some 600 residents displaced from their homes by Hurricane Harvey’s devastating winds and floodwaters will now have a place to stay among one of two barges brought into the bay by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
Each barge can accommodate about 300 people and will serve as a tempory residence until they manage to get back on their feet.
“This is hard enough,” Gwendolyn Donahue told KTIV reporter Jacque Masse. “But at this moment right now, now you talkin’ about putting me on a barge?”
Donahue said that she is “not a fish” and knows “nothing about living on a boat.”
Three meals a day will be offered on the barges along with laundry facilities and satellite TV, as KTIV reported.
