In 1993, one hundred years after the illegal over throw of the Kingdom of Hawaii thousands of na kanaka marched to remember the illicit actions of the Provisional Government who were made up of treasonous actors in the Kingdom of Hawaii who perpetrated their illegal act in collusion with the United States in an attempt to exploit the sugar industry that Americans had manipulated for their sole benefit at the expense of the nation of Hawaii and its citizenry.
Today, 25 years after the historic 100 year march, na kanaka gathered again to remember their Queen and our Monarchy which was then as it is today exemplified and memorized in the Kingdom of Hawaii. Argument moral and legal are made speaking to the proʻs and conʻs of the actions of 1893 that resulted in the treasonous removal of the Hawaiian Constitutional Monarchy in collusion with the United States that is historically documented as a failed expression of democracy replaced with a more certain expression of freedoms as detailed in the US Constitution which holds Hawaii under a codicil of democracy without freedom of choice.
125 years ago today, na kanaka were politically maligned to forcibly accept a system of government that prejudicially prescribed a form of justice that was determined by a motley group of Americans who thought they knew what was best for na kanaka. Not much has changed. The crime continues and the perpetrators who are now the decedents of the original mutineers have been enjoined with the decedents of sugar cane laborers who collectively continue the fraud.
Since the original crime, kanaka have been reclassified as “Hawaiians” a coined term made up by the intruders to describe the people separate from the land. Our native language was outlawed and our culture morphed into a Calvinistic Protestant expression of morality though best by a group from Boston, Massachusetts as being morally right regardless of our choice as Hawaiiʻs native people, na kanaka maoli. So we remember what our history says about our ancestors and our family members who protested the egregious acts of the intruder and those warriors today who continue the fight.
