Now, a video of last night's excursion at UHWO; West Kaloi Stream, proves how the entire 300 acres in totality of raw open space is needed just to sustain one pair of Barn Owls.
The foraging area required for an owl is massive and "they" (by government action) are about to destroy every inch of owl habitat that contains foraging plots south of the H-1 Freeway.

Watch Barn Owls Work the Open Fields From Boundary Line to Boundary Line @ Kaloi Stream- (recorded yesterday/4.3.2017):

POINT:

The Pueo rotate plots so as to not deplete their foodstuffs-
And this is why the Pueo are not recorded as residing in any
one location FOR ANY LONG PERIODS - and missed in EIS inventories.

The Pueo needs- rather, IT IS IMPERATIVE TO THEIR SURVIVAL that those 300 acres at UHWO remaining somewhat fallow - that the Pueo have access to the 300 acres during certain times of the seasons-

And in addition, the Pueo needs Hoopili's 300 acres along the Honouliuli Stream gulch/basin between Farrington Highway to the H-1 Freeway of which too, at various times of the seasons, the Pueo inhabit.

Remember now, UHWO has/owns 900 acres OF RAW FARMLAND that will be laden with housing tracts directly above the H-1 Freeway-

The Military owns 3,500 acres just above the H-1 Freeway next to the 900 acres at UHWO for future military housing needs-

An Internment Camp Replica/Nat'l Parktoo, is to occupy dozens of acres above the H-1 Freeway and serve as a museum.

Hence, if you think the Pueo can live above the H-1 Freeway on Monsanto, Syngenta, Pioneer, and Bayer experimental crop sites- you are ignorant and unaware what the Pueo needs to live.

If you think the Pueo live on military land- you are wrong- no Pueo have been seen on any military land on Oahu since 1990's-  FOR THE MILITARY CONDUCT CONTROLLED BURNS ON THEIR GRASSLANDS.

So if you think the Pueo lives where the brush fires take place along the tree line in the forest-  you are dead wrong-  no Pueo have been recorded in the Honouliuli Forest Preserve as far as science has informed us- which concludes Pueo are not forest birds- but live on the Ewa Plain/grassland.

Conclusion-  the Pueo need, deserve, and are owed an equal right by law to exist-  and their entire habitat below the H-1 Freeway is about to be liquidated 100% unless YOU ACT!

But alas, now look-  today's FRONT PAGE HEADLINE- what is happening above the H-1 Freeway where fallow agricultural plots have become critical to Pueo survival-

The government is to permit and encourage, new "residential action" (workforce housing) on and where Pueo had an opportunity to forage ......they, the Pueo, will have all opportunities above the H-1 Freeway for survival- completely transformed- liquidated habitat on that 427 acres with more encroachment.

So if the Pueo are kicked out and off all properties south of the H-1 Freeway-  completely extirpated from within the Urban Growth Boundary, and evicted in the near future from all plots north of the H-1 Freeway, just exactly where the hell do you expect this bird to live?
