I pledge to the Hawaiian Kingdom ! How can you say you are to help us when your government is the one RESPONSIBLE for our Crisis now! Conflict of interest! The worse thing is that OHA is holding our Beneficiary money hostage and are depleting our monies! Come on. In the 70's OHA was created! Look how they helped us? I blame OHA for our Crisis that we are in now. If OHA was really looking out for us Kanaka? We supposed to be way ahead by now? Instead we went backwards. Fake state of Hawai'i and OHA is responsible for the CRISIS WE ARE IN NOW!

The whole idea of land “ownership” needs some serious examination in Hawai’i. I am not necessarily against it as a way of getting by, but I must say that I am truly appalled at the sense of entitlement that people seem to feel about using (largely stolen) lands that they do not even live on for profit, while balking at the audacity of the idea that they should at least give something back.
Seriously, wtf.
These are largely STOLEN properties to begin with, people. First ...of all, you do not own land. Nobody does. Unless it is ancestral Kanaka lands with families still on it, the people whose own land it is were probably removed from it. And they are still the real owners.
What you own is a piece of paper that is connected to a bullet in an illegal government gun that keeps the actual owners of the land off of it. THAT is the truth, and it is time to get real about that truth.

Ku'ulei Perez All who bought land here in Hawaii after 1893, do not own the land, except if you kanaka then you have entitlement to the land, to live on and off of the land according to the Mahele and the Hawaiian Kingdom laws. All land transactions that took place after the illegal overthrow, is null and void not legal according to occupational law. Learn our Hawaiian Kingdom laws and the laws of occupation. What is being done here and now is all criminal actions or called war crimes according to International laws that pertain to Hawai'i. Even before the illegal overthrow, no one owned the land but was given or inherited lands and now have kuleana to steward the lands, not just to own it, possess it, and do nothing with it. I see so many who have the mentality of I paid for the land I own it and even turn their backs to their ohana who need land to live on or live off on but refuse to aloha and share with others. Years and years go by with the needs of our people now in a crisis and those who so called own the land don't even have it in their na'au to do the right things and kahea the ohana to come and live on the land. Western mentality have implanted into the mana'o of many kanaka today. And those who know the truth and try to steward the land and call the kanaka to come and malama with them, are persecuted, arrested, and forbidden to exercise their rights to the land. Pikanini Pake Yep. All land titles sre clouded. The land was given as a Gift - Mahele, from Kauikeouli's hand to the RP land holder and their heirs in perpetuity. If at any time there was no heirs the law of reversion would take place. It was an agreement. From the king's hand to the name of the grant, and from the recipient back to the king.

Luke Satsuma Westerners seem to think of ownership as the right to profit from and destroy or waste something, as with land or their dinner. What are tactics we can use to restore land to kanaka and create safe places for houseless, and alternatives to “owning” and renting land? It is hard to imagine ways without directly fighting off occupational forces that keep people on the street and out of homes, off the land etc.
