Hi Ohana, Just to let you folks know that we descend from Kamehameha from four (4) of his children: (1) Kaoleioku, (2) Kanekapolei 2 (female); (3) Kamehameha III - Kauikeaouli; and (4) Kalanihelemaiiluna. We are also Kamehameha's stepchildren from six (6) of them - (1) Kiwalao (2) Puali Nui (female) (3) Kalaipaihala (4) Manouwa/Manoua (female) (5) Kinoiki (female) and (6) Haupu/Kahekili (note: the first four are the children of Kalaniopuu and the last two are the children of Kaumualii of Kauai...and we are from two (2) of Kamehameha's hanai/adopted children: (1) Hueu Davis and (2) Peke Davis - children of Kamaikui/Grace Kamaikui and Isaac Davis....Hueu and Peke were adopted by Kamehameha, their grandfather John Young whose daughter Kamaikui married his friend Isaac Davis...….this is both our Mom's and Dad's lines...contact cousin Keoua for our Dad's lines.... obtw cousin Keoua on his mother's side has a line of Kamehameha through Kepelino, another son of Kamehameha. …..now do you know why we have tried to get our ohana to meet? questions? hawaiianhistory@gmail.com
