Vol VI No. 631 Part 4

Egyptian authorities arrested Al Jazeera journalist Mahmoud Hussein on Friday, accusing him of disturbing public security and spreading "false news." According to Reporters Without Borders, Egypt ranks among the worst countries on Earth for press freedom.

Dozens of bloggers and reporters have been imprisoned by Egypt's government under President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.

Reza Sharif Are other journalists being arrested too or only AlJazeera?
I ask because the latter is the propaganda machine for Qatar, the supporter of the Muslim Brotherhood...
Didn't you cover the link between Al Jazeera- Qatar- and the Muslim Brotherhood?

Dan Whitesell This is the Egypt that the United States government and its leading Middle East client regime, Israel, support. The U.S. and Israel work together to undermine democracy in Egypt and other Middle East countries to prevent Arab nationalism from claiming their own resources and requiring the Zionist, apartheid state to submit to international law by withdrawing from the West Bank and discontinuing their strangling of Gaza, punctuated every few years by hideous atrocities against caged and defenseless men, women and children.

"In some ways, the Obama administration, I think, was very successful in carving out this authority, this really unchecked authority to use lethal force against suspected enemies. And that power will now be available to President Trump." - Jameel JafferColumbia University in the City of New York

In Syracuse, New York, four were arrested outside Hancock Air National Guard Base Friday at a nonviolent protest against the U.S. drone assassination program.

Press freedom advocates are raising alarm over a little-known bill rolled into the National Defense Authorization Act, called the Countering Disinformation and Propaganda Act. It will create a national anti-propaganda center.

President Obama on Friday signed the National Defense Authorization Act, or NDAA, providing nearly $619 billion for war and military spending.

Lawrence Libby A US Government Anti-Propaganda Agency. You know, like a Ministry of Truth.. George Orwell: “The Ministry of Peace concerns itself with war, the Ministry of Truth with lies, the Ministry of Love with torture and the Ministry of Plenty with starvation. These contradictions are not accidental, nor do they result from from ordinary hypocrisy: they are deliberate exercises in doublethink”

Jack Schoonover Article says it was a veto-proof bill so not sure Obama had much say in the matter.
LikeReply122 mins
Ronald Tippitt Jack Schoonover Obviously you don't understand how they do things in Washington. The repeal of Glass Steagall was also, but history tells us that Clinton rallied the bill thru several times before it had enough support to make it "Veto Proof". These assholes live by incentive, and the CFR can provide quite a bit of incentive for stepping right.

Roksana Gabdul What Jack said. The article described it as a veto-proof bill, so how much could Pres. Obama could have done?

It also talks about FOREIGN not domestic state and non state interference. There could be grounds laid for lawsuits if they attempt to touch domestic sources.
