For the pass 20 years we have been an advocate to the mauka lands stretching from Olowalu, Launiupoko, Kaua'ula, Kanaha and Kahoma. mainly to protect historical properties, sites and the burials of our ancestors..
To the left of the map in brown is Kaua'ula valley cultural reserve. which means in order for anyone who wants to traverse in this valley, there is a code of conduct. Simple! there are 3 kuleana land parcel from bottom to top. Kalua is the first, then in the middle we have the Palakiko ohana and the very top the Kapu.ohana. "THREAD LIGHT!" We do not tolerate people who come to look, especially bottle and artifact hunters. If you have no business there then stay away. If you are going to visit family then fine.
These kuleana parcel are lands that were awarded to these families from the monarchy of Hawai'i, these lands are still pristine and rich in archeological sites and burials still being protected by the living heirs today so if you find yourself going to far, be prepared to get approached and turned away.
And for the pill poppers and the batu gang who like to go off road raging in the middle of the night and leave your shit all over the place, stay the hell out. For the drug labs under the bypass near Kaua'ula river., you get 2 days to pack your shit and get out too!
When we see the lives of our families living in threat being afraid to drive home nights and we try to get the adjoining land owners to do something but they do not. Its time for us to start enforcing our selves. so don't get offended if your ass get put in check. It is what it is.
