Aloha Sen. Donovan Dela Cruz;
Our pueo in Honouliuli Ewa Oahu belong to the creator Ke Akua and the present and future generations to come.
However what looms on the horizon is the destruction of a key nest, feeding and breeding ground on the property of the UHWO campus of 150 acres of life and security for the last of the endangered pueo on the Leeward coast of Oahu addressed by House Bill 2629 to protect this key endangered pueo habitat.
We are asking for your support Sen. Donovan Dela Cruz to ammend Sen. Mike Gabbard's Senate Bill 2028 for the study of the pueo on the campus of UHWO in Honouliuli Ewa Oahu to reflect the complete language in House Bill 2629 to save the endangered pueo's habitat of 150 acres.
It would be a tragic and heavy burden for present and future generations to see the Leeward coast of Oahu missing a old friend swept-ed from our sky the pueo. This would be a grave ERROR and Crime to deprive present and future generations of this most valuable Hawaiian Cultural treasure and resource to extinguish its light for ever on Oahu.
We must make a firm stand to do what is truly right and good in the public interest by protecting this valuable pueo habitat for the stability and balance of our existing Honouliuli pueo population and it unique genetic diversity.
We implore you Sen. Donovan Dela Cruz as a brother Hawaiian and a personal eye witness to your own experience seeing the magic of a pueo in flight to keep this vision alive by supporting a amendment in your Senate Committee to amend Senate Bill 2078 to reflect the entire language of House Bill 2629 to save our beloved treasure our pueo in Honouliuli.
